Joey’s first prayer

Monday, March 19th, 2007

My two year old son said his first prayer on Friday night. You can only imagine the well of tears in our eyes… It went down like this:

We’d just left Villa (an awesome, family-owned Mexican restaurant on Tucson’s NW side). Martha and I had our usual – red chili beef quesadilla and a carne asada burrito – and ordered a shredded beef taco for Joey… of which he had none. So, as we’re driving out of the parking lot, we’re all chit-chatting in the car…

“Stop talking a me! I pray to God.” Mar and I were stunned… We got real quiet.

“Jesus, thank you for my taco.”

That was it. And I think it was a fantastic start.

Slickr

I upgraded my flickr account to Pro status today (more photos coming soon!) and ran across a really cool screensaver that pulls photos down from flickr. You can specify who you want the photos to come from, what tags you want, groups, yada, yada.

It’s called Slickr and can be downloaded here. The nice thing is that you don’t have to have a flickr account or anything. You just tell it what kind of photos to download.

I’ve actually had trouble coming back to my desk and ‘ending the show’ in order to get work done. My kids are so dang cute.

Wow. The UI, while attractive, will take some getting used to.

The ‘ribbon’ concept is really interesting. I’ll admit being a little overwhelmed at first, but the development team seems to have put a lot of thought into not only where commands are located but also how prominently they’re featured on the ribbon. I think I’m going to like it.

So far, I’ve only played with Outlook and Powerpoint. I’m saving Word and Excel for when I actually need to open a document in that format.

worth the switch?

I find myself wondering if it’s worth it to move from Blogger to WP.com… the move might be enough to rejuvenate my desire to keep a blog up-to-date and full of recent pictures of my kiddos.  However, I’ve moved… twice in the last year.

It’s all a big waste of time anyway.

Wow. It’s been a long time…

Wordpress sure has matured over time.
