writing lessons with bish

4 things I learned from writing my IT105 ‘practice’ essay:

1. a weak, barely-detailed outline begets a weak, barely-detailed paper.
2. read your references, don’t just mark them as references and try to work them in after you ramble out a ‘paper’ and realize that you have no citations (!).
3. disconnect your computer from the interweb. do it. it’s amazing the amount of work you can get done in a coffee shop w/o wifi.
4. write with the word counter off… you won’t fall into the trap of using ‘filler adverbs’.
