Passing down the tradition

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

My son and I spent some time playing w/ my old Lego collection today. As I was putting him to bed, I was reminded of a Lego set I saw in the store as a 12 year old and just WANTED. My dad encouraged me to save my money and after several months, I had the $50 necessary to buy that set.

Tonight, 18 years later… I rebuilt it using instructions I found online. I was surprised how many of the original pieces I actually still had. I got most of it built aside from the ailerons and the related linkages. I was missing too many of the small technic parts… I wonder if I can purchase just the pieces I’m missing somewhere in order to finish it off?

A letter of thanks.

Dear Terro,

Your liquid poison-based traps worked ridiculously fast. My wife and I are amazed at how well they work. We’ve been fighting an ant infestation behind our oven for almost a week. Thank you, thank you, thank you for creating a non-messy, effective way to eliminate the intruders in our kitchen!

If you’re a DS owner… pick up this game. I’ve had a decent amount of time w/ this title over the past few days due to my girls being sick. It’s delectable.

Strep throat in the house

Both my wife and my 23month-old daughter are sick w/ Strep throat. :(

Sucks not being able to do much for my wife as she shivers under two heavy blankets and moans…

Happy Birthday, Vagrant Story!

Well, they haven’t forgotten about it… If only this were a sign that Square Enix was going to give this game new life on the Wii or DS.
