Worldmark by Wyndham

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

For the love, what do I have to do to get these Worldmark by Wyndham people to stop calling me? I’ve never been to one of their ‘pitches’; haven’t signed up for any of their ‘vacation giveaway’ lists. I’ve actually added the number below as a contact on my phone called “Do Not Want” and set the ringer to ‘none’. I called this morning and left a message demanding to be taken off the list. And yet, still they call.

Stop calling me, 916.285.7644!

UPDATE 2.25.09 11:08am: called the number again, got another number that I could call to speak to a ‘live agent’: 1.800.365.7814. Called… it’s been busy for at least a half hour.

UPDATE 2.27.09 2:03pm: called the 800 number listed above… it’s now “no longer in service”. fantastic. called main number (916.285.7644) and left another message… this time w/ a more ‘irrate’ feel to it.

New job & New skills

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

I started my new job last Monday and I’m really excited about the things I’m going to learn while here. It’s strange to ‘grow up’ in my IT skills at one location for 9 years and then end up in a place where things are pretty different. There’s much less reliance on Windows servers, little to no Outlook use (yes!), and I actually get to work on web development projects. It’s bizarre to walk through the hallways and see so many Macs amongst the Windows machines. It’ll be interesting to get my feet wet supporting the Mac side of the force.

There’s a lot of *nix server management that’s being done w/ vi. I need to get much more comfortable w/ this editor. It’s pretty awkward to use right now. Though, I do admire it’s power. I need to make myself a command ref. I can stick to the side of my monitor…
